Foulkes was part of a panel at the second London Future Forum, held on March 7, that will discuss how London can capture opportunities surrounding the 2012 Olympic Games to become a leading events destination.
Hosted by ExCeL London, London & Partners and the Mayor's Office, Foulkes will lead the debate at the invitation-only event alongside panellists including Ruth Mackenzie, LOCOG Director of Culture; Clive Little, Director of Events, Olympic Park Legacy Company; Gordon Innes, CEO, London & Partners; and Kevin Murphy, Chief Executive, ExCeL London.
The Future Forum engages with key influencers and stakeholders in the events industry, feeding back to local and national government on what London needs to deliver to be a leading events destination.
Foulkes has also been invited to judge at this year’s The Eventice competition.
Styled on ‘The Apprentice’, The Eventice is a competition created to provide an opportunity for young and emerging talent to find a job in the event industry, supported by Event magazine.
Twelve finalists will compete in a series of challenges taking place at Confex at ExCeL London from March 6 to 8, winning the chance to secure a job in the events industry.
Foulkes brings his experience as a past director of globally renowned Imagination, past president of the International Special Event Society's (ISES)Chapter UK and as a current member of ISES' Chicago based Board of Govenors board to the judging panel, made up of UK event industry experts and representatives.
Foulkes also led an education session at the Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo in Melbourne, Australia on February 21, speaking on ‘Global Trends in Special Events’.
